    3. Hi Ian Nice to hear from you. Your name doesn't ring a bell though funnily enough i worked with an Ian Park down here in Hampshire. Your name doesn't immediately ring a bell but I do have contact with two old school friends (Kitty MacPherson and Doreen Christie) so I will mention your name to them Have you heard of the web-site 'Friends Re-United' (friendsreunited.co.uk)> It is a data-base of schools, colleges and now work places where you can log your name and look up other people from your school. If you are not already on it it would be worth while registering. Best Wishes in your search. I lost track of my father, William Park, in the late 50's, very likely a result of the Biafran situation in Nigeria. 3. Wanda Seaview would probably be the name of the residence. Dunoon is on the coast and many guest houses and private residences names themselves such. You will probably find it is Seaview, (number) Auchamore Road, Dunoon. It could have been a private house, a guest house for holiday makers or a lodging house. I am trying to find out what happened to the siblings and mother of my gggrandfather and his brother who migrated to australia c 1853. Hugh McPherson MCINTYRE bn Skipness parish 1828 and his brother Archibald bn 1830 also Skipness. Their father was Archibald McIntyre, schoolmaster Clonaig (nr Skipness), and mother Sarah (Sally) MCNEIL. They were married 1818 at Kilmartin Glassary. I would dearly love to find what happened to Sarah, as she was a widow by 1851 with only her youngest, a daughter also called Sarah (bn 1836 Skipness)and two young nephews Malcolm 7 and Duncan McNeil 5 (bn Glasgow) living with her. Her other children were John bn 1819, Peter bn 1822, Malcolm bn 1824, Neil bn 1833. I am currently investigating the possibility that Peter may also have come to Australia, but that still 4 missing children and mother. Also, if there is anyone with access to the 1841 census for Skipness, could they possibly do a look up for this family. (Archibald (senior) was still alive at this point. They were living at or near the farm 'Creggan'. Thanks for any light anyone might be able to shed on this mystery Lesley, Melbourne, Australia

    2. Hello List, Samuel McColl was born 4 Jun 1797 to John McColl and Isobel McColl, Lismore. A son, Duncan, was born in 1800. These are the only two children listed on the OPRI. Is anyone on the list familiar with this family and if so do you have the names of the other siblings? The family emigrated to NC after 1800. Thank you for your assistance. Dorothy

Their son ALEXANDER WILLIAMSON married BARBARA LANG (also LANAGHAN and other various spellings). Their daughter MARGARET WILLIAMSON appears later as MCWILLIAMS in Glasgow. 3. Hi Stuart I'm very interested in your posting re McMillan and MacPherson grave markers at Kilchoan. My wife's great grandfather, Donald McPherson, son of David McPherson and Jean Cameron, migrated to Victoria, Australia, in 1853 to work as a shepherd at Stawell (area then known as Pleasant Creek) for a family of Mc Millans. Donald, baptised at Acharacle in 1826, gave Kichoan as his birthplace on the 1851 census. We have often wondered whether there was a connection between Donald and the McMillans was as we have no information as to why he came directly from Scotland to Stawell. It could well be that there is some family tie up here - if only we could unravel it!
