The following is an excerpt from my ggggrandfather, Henry Hudnall's will. I'm wondering if anyone knows where these places were or if they still exist today. 1852 AD South Carolina Sumter District I give, devise and bequeath unto my son John Hamlin Hudnall, the upper part of the tract of land called the Thigpan Tract and lying on Horse Branch, the line to commence at Pocatalige (sp.)? Swamp, and run the same distance from the lower line that the short ditch in the field called Amos Rice Pond ditch is from said line straight to the run of June Burn Branch on the back line. I give devise and bequeath unto my son Ilia Nunn Hudnall two hundred and thirty-eight acres of land on Doctors Swamp whereon he now lives, purchased by me from John I. Frierson. October 1817 Sumter District South Carolina First - I lent unto my Beloved Wife Priscilla Hudnall during her widowhood or life, that tract of land called the Potter Tract, and the tract of land called the Fred Winkley Place. Thirdly - I give and bequeath unto my son Henry Hudnall the tracts of land called the Gibson Place containing three hundred and Seventy Acres more or less. Fifthly - I give and bequeath unto my son Robert Hudnall at my death one half of that tract of land called the Perry Tract, that is the upper half. Sixthly - I give and bequeath unto my son Jarred Hudnall the one half of the tract of land called the Perry Tract, that is the lower half.
