The new USGenWeb Archives (Digital Library) is now ready for the public. Brian Leverich (of Rootsweb) said: <snip> The new search engine server is now online and can operate at the speed of a full T1 connection. Courtesy of hacks by Dale Schneider, you can search the USGenWeb Archives, now with *headlines* and *updated* to within the last 24 hours, at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ussearch.htm <snip> This means that any files uploaded today will be found by the search engine tomorrow. As of May 1, there were over 600 megs of data (text files) in the Archives. Many thanks to Brian and Doc and all the Archives file managers and the volunteer transcribers for making this project a great tool for Internet genealogical researchers.
