Hello all, Excuse any typoes. I have a mashed finger. (Door,Ouch). The long awaited, Illustrated Recollections of Potter's Raid is now available by Allan Thigpen of Sumter is now published. It's great. Allan has done a fantastic job. (I bought 2 yesterday. My husband works with Allan and they talked almost everyday about when the book would be back from the printers and then the bookbinders.) The book "contains the memoirs of soldiers and civilians who were witnesses to the events, as well as excertps of official records, newspaper accounts, and personal letters to family and friends." The book has over 300 pictures and maps and is about 700 pages long, with a full index. If you don't recall what Potter's Raid is all about, take a look at the page on my Sumter site about Sumter's history. Let me know if you would like an order form. I have scanned the one that Allan gave me yesterday. (One side anyway. The side with the order slip.) The Sumter County Genealogical Society is handling it. It's $30 plus $3 shipping. (No tax since the society is non-profit.) Bye, Cindy
