The compass directions and distances will give you the shape and size of the land; not the placement. You'll need to look to references to landmarks such as waterways or the names of neighbors to determine the placement. You might be fortunate enough to find that someone has already mapped the land ownership of the area. Otherwise, determining the exact location of the land in question may be quite difficult.
