Carol-----I cannot help you with any of the names....I would however mention to you that one McDonald Furman was a great writer in that area.....he wrote a wonderful fairy tale about Nasty Branch....my clipping is not complete ....so I do not have all of it.....Furman wrote and was published as a correspondent from Privateer in the SUMTER ADVANCE, and also THE WATCHMAN AND SOUTHRON. (a number of articles were also written for the NEWS AND COURIER and THE STATE)....
