    2. Jeremiah RHAME, Jr. (abt 1760 - abt May 1822) was the son of Jeremiah RHAME (1730-1803) and Ann BRADLEY. He married (1st) Lucretia ______; and (2nd) Hannah _______. Any information on the maiden names and children of each of these wives greatly appreciated. Thanks, Bill McIntosh For anyone interested in these families, here's Jeremiah RHAME, Jr.'s last will and testament [Sumter Co, SC, Bundle 82, Pack 1; 14 Apr 1822]: In the name of God Amen I Jeremiah Rhame of Clarendon County, Sumter Dist., and State of South Carolina, Planter being of sound mind, memory and understanding for which I Thank God do make this my last will and testament as follows to wit. First my body to be Buried in Christian manner. Secondly I give and bequeth to my wife Hannah Rhame one Horse and riding chair to be purchased for her by my executors out of the proceeds of the crop to be made on my plantation the present year. Also the liberty or privilege of living in the dwelling house occupied by me at this time and a suitable maintenance out of the annual proceed of my estate during her natural life or continuance on the plantation whereon I now live or shoudl she prefer leaving my house and refuse the provision above mentioned for her maintenance it is my will and desire that the Negroes which I got by my intermarriage with her be given up to her on the following condotions and no other to wit after all the money has been paid to my estate which I got with her which I have expended for or on account of her debts and the debts due by the estate I got with her and farther after the Bond given by my self and my Brothers Bradley Rhame and Asa Rhame have been cancelled or given up to my Executors by her or some other person in her behalf which Bond was given for the return of some Negroes or for them not being carried out of the estate which I got by intermarriage with her. This bequest or otherwise relinquishment of Negroes on the terms specified in lieu of Dower and intended as bar to the same and all other claims against my estate or any part thereof. Thirdly it is my will that my son Able Rhame be educated suitable to his station at the description (of my Executors) out of the proceeds of my estate exclusive of his proportionate portion of the estate. Fourthly, I give and bequeth to my son Levy F. Rhame five hundred dollars as compensation for his services superintending my business the last three years and the present year. The rest, residue, and remainder of my estate both real and personal to be equally divided amongst my children after the payments of all my just debts by my executors. Lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint my sons Levy F. Rhame and Obadiah Rhame Executors to this my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fourteenth day of April one thousand eight hundred and twenty two.
