Hello all The surnames I am researching are the BARNES, MEEKS, and DIXON of Sumter and points beyond! My direct ancester was Jacob Junius BARNES, born SC 1814-1815, was a schoolteacher in the Darlington area and moved to Suwannee County, FL with family in 1861.
