Lonne: >From the 1860 census of Clarendon District I found the family of Charles Manning Richardson and Mary Ann Mercer: Their Children: Dorcas (female, 1847-1926) who m. a Mr. Connors Randolph, b. c 1849 Richard, b. c 1852 Patty, b. c 1852 James, b. c 1854 Charles, b. c 1857 Ann L.E., b. c 1859 The family apparently were Baptists, for Charles is buried at Calvary Bapt. Cemetery near Paxville (p. 576 of Sumter County Cemetery Book # 2, Clarendon County) and Mary Ann and Dorcas are buried at the Baptist Cemetery at Taw Taw Swamp, Summerton (p. 576 of same book). I have not followed this Richardson family, since they are not "my" Richardsons, who are the descendants of William Richardson and Ann Magdalen Guignard of Bloom Hill Plantation. There are lots of lawyers and doctors in my Richardson family, but only one Governor that I have seen, who actually was married to a Richardson and was not himself a Richardson (Thank goodness!
