    3. I am trying to find out the tie between AMY HAMPTON (maiden name unknown) whose husband Richard died in 1803, and these families mentioned above. Amy and Richard apparently never had children before his death. Amy outlived him by 30 years. In her 1843 will she named the following people: Niece ELizabeth Lansdell (Landsdale?) Joshua A. Spears James M. Pitts Niece Amy Adelaide Spears Susannah Brunson Anderson A Spears Henry Spears Melbry Ann Norton James Clark Richard Hampton, Amy's husband, had a sister named ELizabeth who married Mason Spears, but this family removed to MS in the early 1800's long before Amy's will was written, and none of the names of their children match these names anyway. Richard's sister MARY married a Clark and had children Lucy and William. Perhaps this is James Clark. Perhaps these are relations through the brothers and sisters of AMY and not the Hamptons... Can anyone enlighten me? Regina Roper
