Hello, I have heard from so many of you searching for names and I have found very few of them so I will begin listing the names - a few at a time. Mr. Scott moved around so much he talks of places and the history and economy of the areas of Sumterville, Manchester, Camden and Columbia according to his recollections. Some of these are just a fleeting sentence and others are lengthy. The people are mentioned in passing with some very interesting stories accompanying the names! I hope that some of these stories and anecdotes can fall into the hands of descendants who might find them more exciting than just the names and dates that we so often have to settle for in our research. Here are the names beginning with "A" listed in the index of his book: Abbott(family and Henry),Adams(Gen. James H., John, John Quincy, family), Prof.Adamson,J.A.Addison,Agnew(John),Agnew's store,J.Duncan Allen,Amick family,Mrs. Acrum, Anderson (James F.,R.M.,Gen.
