    3. A history note: Sumter Based Railroad....the Northwestern was first the Summterton to Wilson Railroad....owned by Col. Charles Wilson who ran a big lumber operation at Wilson....just east of Manning...and this side of Foreston....upon leaving Wilson for Summerton, the first station was Bloomeville....then Jordan....then Davis Station and then Summerton....later tracks went to Panola...Broadway Siding (???I think)....and Paxville....then Tindal and on into Sumter......a later tract went from Sumter to Camden....this one went by Dalzell, Providence Springs...Borden and Rembert.....Sumter's heaviest traffic today is on Guignard.....this is old bed of the Northwestern....it went broke and tracks came up around l935....where Stanley Welch is located was the site of second trestle....first trestle was at corner of Haynsworth and Guignard.......Guignard is named after Guignard Richardson....... just could not help,,,,the Elks Club here in Sumter was the Wilson Home....some of your grew up swimming there --mayorbubba@sumter.net -----Original Message----- From: Ken Schmidt <deeken@cpis.net> To: SCSUMTER-L@rootsweb.com <SCSUMTER-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Wednesday, January 12, 2000 9:08 PM Subject: Re: [SCSUMTER-L] Location-Jordan >Faye, >Jordan is a small community near both Manning and Davis Station.
