Thanks for your information and concern, Melissa. Would you please expand on your concern to the SCSUMTER-L? What is the nature of: "One major error occurs in the very first generation." As genealogy researchers, we need to know the nature of concerns about Sallie Henrietta Rembert and L. A. "Brooks" McCall. Remberts by way of South Carolina. Charleston, SC: Privately Printed, 1979. Otherwise, the information provided in this book may get entered into people's charts as gospel and not as possiblities to be documented by primary and secondary resources. I haven't had as much experience with the format used in this book as I have with other formats. So, this book can be confusing for me to read, follow, and sort through generations of any one line. Each time I go back through the book, I learn more about how to read, interpret, and use it. Researching in the book is time consuming! References are not a strong suit for this book. I have found at least one error in page references given in the Index of Names -- don't take page references for granted. >From this book, I have learned a lot about possible GUERRY lines and how they may connect with the REMBERT lines. The information here has given me a lot of new possibilities to use to form my own hypotheses, and as a base-line to search for documentation. I certainly would not use this, or any other, book as the only source for documentation. I make mistakes transferring and recording information; I assume I'm not alone in this human condition. I try to find and correct my mistakes and hope I've done this critical piece of work before passing on incorrect data.
