I will E-mail him. I hope that his address is senor@bellsouth.net Thanks Jackie
Good You wont regret it. I have no interest in selling the book, but I knew it is almost sold out and from what you told me I knew it would help you. Takes about a week. If you haven't already, I would send him an email to reserve your copy Enjoy
You might want to check with Kathy, KHowell585@aol.com, She is also researching the line from Sumpter. See what she has. Betty
Lonne, if you will go to http://SingletonFamily.org/ you will find information on Ann Stroud and Jesse Nettles, her husband, and their children. I can give you the names of Peter Edhea Brunson (d. 1836) who m. Helena___________. I believe that Helena should be Winnie. In the Nettles book it says C.2 Winnie Nettles (b. 29 Mar 1773, d. 30 Mar 1820) m. Peter Brunson. They had eight sons and two daughters. It ends there. In the Brunson book it gives the names of 12 children under Peter Edhea Brunson (d. 1836) m. Helena. Do you want these names? Also, I can give you children of Temperance. Let me know. Jackie
Are your Hayne ancestors from Rowan County, NC? The Haynes (Haines) families of that county seem to come from two sources: PA and NJ. They all stem from a Richard Haynes (Naines) from England. I was recently told that there is also a Hayne (Haine) family that is from Germany who originally spelled the name Hein. Can someone explain to me why a family with the same roots will have an "s" added on the end of the name among northern cousins and will not have the same in the south? I have run into this phenomena several times. Kathy , Thanks for getting this to Jackie, I tried to send her some connection she could relate to. I believe I got her mixed up with you from earlier. Betty
Maidee, His mention of Seibels is in connection with the decline in the village of Granby: "The town being at the head of navigation on the Congaree, with a ferry on the road leading to the up country, and broad, fertile river swamp lands extending many miles below, was a place of considerable business and some of its merchants made fortunes and lived in good style. Their families were well educated and formed a circle of refined society that was at once moral and elevated. Among them were the Bells, Hanes, Arthurs, Fridays, Seibelses, and others whose representatives go to make up the present population of Columbia and vicinity. But when the State Capitol, the South Carolina College and the sessions of the Supreme Court were established at Columbia Granby began to decline. It had always been unhealthy, the superior capital and enterprise of the merchants in Columbia in time drew trade from the place, and after the removal of the county seat to Lexington it became a deserted village; so that, in 1822 but two or three stores remained, those of Muller and Senn and Pou and Seibels (Lewis Pou and Henry Seibels)."

Hi, Jackie- I saw your posting concerning the Holladay Book and Dr. Elvis Holladay wrote a whole chapter on the Sumter Holladays. Plus, since that branch originated in Virginia, he has the Virginia branch prior to the move to SC....and in England prior to the immigration to Virginia. Also, he traces this group all the way back to England. Kathy Heaton/Holladay/Howell
Betty I finally found all your messages. I can see by your last E-mail that I want the book. I will send Bob a check tomorrow. I also got the message about $40.00 being the total. I have already E-mailed you another message about this but I don't know anything about Adelia and Amanda other than that Adelia was married to Wesley Barden Singleton. Thanks for everything. Jackie
