    2. Some time ago I received a kind offer from someone who lived near the old home of my ancestor Dr James Mayrant. Shortly after reading it my family history search was "put on the back burner" and I'm afraid I never even thanked the person for their kind offer... this is by way of thanking you -and anyone who has kindly offered help and was never properly thanked for it. Dolly Gambrell in exile from my South Carolina home using <[email protected]> to sail the net until I can learn to do real research- once again thanking all who have helped me...

I don't know his full name, but I'm sure she does...she is the family repository of all history. 1. [SCSUMTER-L] Clarendon County Photo Album
    2. Cynthia Ridgeway Parker
    3. I just put the finishing touches on an online photo album for Clarendon County. The idea came from Windy Corbett, archivist of the Clarendon County Archives. She send me some photos to post on the Clarendon site for identification purposes. Since I have some old photos in my files and a few folks have sent me more, the photo album just sort of mushroomed. I have sent the weeks since school let out working on the pages. There is still a little refining to do, but they are there for viewing. Visit the Clarendon County photo album and step back into the past at http://www.rootsweb.com/~scclaren/pictures/photos.html If any of you have Clarendon, Sumter, or Lee photos from the past and would like to share them with others, please consider donating a copy to the Old Sumter District Web pages. Thanks and enjoy, Cindy Ridgeway Parker Assistant State Coordinator for SCGenWeb Coordinator and Webmaster for Sumter, Clarendon, and Lee Counties, SCGenWeb List Manager for SCSumter-L and Richbourg-L :) Part time math teacher (only during the school year) for Sumter School District #17 (My REAL job is obviously genealogy :) not really, just joking

    2. Cynthia Ridgeway Parker
    3. Hello all, Rootsweb has been working recently on making the mailing lists that they sponser work better. They are blocking spam. I can testify to the fact that it works because when they catch was appears to be spam going to one of the lists, they forward it on to the list owner, just in case so that the listowner can decide what to do with it. As a list manager I have received 2 such mailings since the smart list started catching spam. It works. Now the lists will block messages in HTML, richtext, and attachments. This is to help out those who can't read those types of messages and there are many. (Folks with older systems, those on WebTv, and AOL has problems too.) I am pasting a message from Rootsweb about it at the end of this message. It's hot as South Carolina here. I'm staying inside. That means that I should get the new pages for the Clarendon County website finished today. I have been working on them since school let out. The new pages are a sort of picture album. Windy Corbett had sent me a couple of photos to post of unknown vets before and then she sent me some old photos from 1955 and an old Paxville school group photo. (She scans them and e-mails them to me.) I have some old photos of my own and some that folks have sent to me in the mail or just given to me. I decided to scan them too (new scanner here) and start a photo album. If you have any old pictures, I would love to add yours to the album. I would like to start one for Sumter and Lee Counties. All of these are Clarendon. There are a lot of my family, but hey that's what I have in my files here. Have fun researching.
