    2. "Carolina Spartan" Issue: May 14, 1884 James HARRISON, of Walnut Grove, bought the big show wagon known as the "Massillon Separator." He will make things "howl" when he starts out. A new mineral spring has been discovered on the branch, near the street running from the Twitty Grove, across the rear of Captain GWYNN's. It has the smell and taste of sulphur, and if so, it will prove very valuable to our town. Dr. J.F. CLEVELAND has moved into his new house out on the hill, where he can overlook the town. Mr. H.F. SCAIFE is moving into the house just vacated by Dr. CLEVELAND. Miss Lida SMITH, of Florida, is visiting her uncle, Wm. K. BLAKE, Esq. "Carolina Spartan" Issue: May 21, 1884 Mrs. David GIST sent to this office some of the finest radishes of the long red variety, we have seen this year. Professor WOODWARD was called to Richmond Saturday by the death of his brother-in-law, Thomas LEARY, Esq. Rev. T.C. WINGO, of Elberton, Ga., is visiting friends and relatives in this county. He is the son of Warren WINGO who left here about twenty years ago. Mrs. Dr. VANDIVER, of Talladega, Ala., is visiting her daughter, Mrs. W.C. CANNON. Mrs. SMITH, of Florida is visiting her brother, W.K. BLAKE, Esq. Capt. F. N. WALKER, leaves this week for Birmingham, Ala., where he will go into business.
