Mr. E.B. HUFF visited his old home about Cross Anchor last week. He saw some splendid oat and wheat. A.T. FARROW planted 75 acres of cotton last Saturday. E. Simpson BOBO, Esq., of Nasheville, Tenn., is visiting relatives here. He is a nephew of Mr. Simpson BOBO. MARRIED: --In Atlanta, Ga., the 22d instant, by Rev. J.R. Kendall, pastor of Trinity, Mr. J.H.F. MOSELY, formerly of Clifton, S.C., and Miss Janie T. FELL, of Atlanta. --On the 17th of April, 1883, [sic] by Rev. W.P. Smith, Mr. George D. CHESNEY and Miss Hannah L. WRIGHT both of Spartanburg County. --At the residence of the bride's father in Laurens County, Thursday, April 24, 1884, by the Rev. J.M. Monday he was at George GREGORY's. Messrs W.P. IRWIN and A.L. WHITE returned from Kentucky last week, each bringing a splendid horse with him. Mrs. DAVIS, of Union County, is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Charles PETTY. Mr. Geo. B. WINSLOW of Massachusetts, has come to Spartanburg to stay. He is associated with Captain HALLETT in the ice business. Mr. John B. HENNEMAN, of our town, has gained quite an honor in the Virginia University. The annual debate of the Jefferson Society came off last week, and he received the first prize, a fifty dollar-medal, which was awarded by a committee of professors of that institution. free post Lisa
