Grandpa visited her often when she moved to Nashville from Washington. He Called her cousin Sadie. We also have a cousin named George C Childress who was a lwyer. He went to Texas ...joined Sam Houston's staff and it is supposed the Declaration of Independence of Texas from Mexico is in his handwriting and he was a figure in writing it. Childress County Texas is named for him. I have had some correspondence with Liz Carpenter, Mrs Johnson's (The president's wife's) secretary. She is a relative of George C Childress. She originally came from Boston. President James K Polk's father came from Ireland. His name was Pollocks changed it to Polk. Thanks Cass C Johnson
