SC at least around 1832-1836, as my William M. Hicks b. 1799-1808 SC had two sons, John E. & James, that were born in Spartanburg Co. SC during those years. William is first located in census records in Jefferson County, AL in 1850 but his children show being b. AL as early as possibly between 1834-1836. There are other HICKS men b. SC found in Jefferson in 1850 - Ed and perhaps George, who are rumored to be William "Bill" Hicks' brothers. Here are the kids of William M.
