Spartanburg Herald issue November 4/5, 1931 Mrs. J. H. PARHAM DIES AT AGE 76 Woodruff, Nov. 3---Mrs. Roxana Parham, 76, wife of J. H. Parham, died at her home near Cross Anchor at 1 a. m. Tuesday after an illness of several weeks. Funeral services will be conducted at Cedar Shoal Baptist Church Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock by the Rev. C. B. Prince of Union, the Rev. Dewey Martin of Greenville and the Rev. C.L. Boyter of Woodruff. She is survived by her husband and the following sons and daughters: J. H. Parham Jr., of Cross Anchor, W. J. Parham of Union, Mrs. Clara Lanford, Mrs. J. B. Stribling and Mrs. Grover Watson, all of Cross Anchor, Mrs. J. R. Franklin of Hobbysville and Mrs. W. H. Poole of Spartanburg. She also left the following brothers and sisters: L. H. Wilson and Robert Wilson of Cross Anchor, Joe Wilson of Fieldale, VA., Mrs. Richard Harrill of Cherokee, Mrs. Calvin Sanders of Spartanburg and Mrs. Julia Lanford of Enoree. Pallbearers will be Paul Lanford, J. B. Stribling, Grover Wilson, J. R. Franklin, W.H. Poole and Grover Templeton. Flower bearers will be granddaughters, as follows: Lucy Parham, Ruby Parham, Marguerite Lanford, Devue Lanford, Sarah Watson and Sarah Stribling. Mrs. J.B. [James Boyd] Stribling - mentioned above - was my great-grandmother. It is possible that some of those you named could have died prior to Roxanna, and therefore would not be mentioned as surviving siblings. Let me know if this is the same line. A. Lisa Burns
