I know that a Lucy Wade, b. 9/1/1728 in Goochland Co, VA married Joseph Barnett on 10/3/1754. I believe they may have married in VA as their first child was born in VA, second child in SC. They had 8 children and seemed to have lived in Spartanburg, SC most of their lives. Lucy died in 1812 and is buried in the Barnett Family Cemetery in the Croft State Park. I have found some other's research who claim that Richard Wade was her father, and Gisle Dabny her mother, but I have not proven that as yet. Intrestingly, on my spouse's side, a Martha Wade married a John L. Shepherd in Arkansas, but I haven't even begun to look into her family yet so don't know if there's a connection.
