He later migrated to Kentucky and then to Illinois. Another family researcher said Charles might have been the son of a Charles Barton McAbee of Spartansburg, although she had no actual source to back that up. We have been unable to find Robert Charles' in any records prior to his marriage in 1852, in Graves County Kentucky/Weakley CountyTennessee (the marriage record shows up in both places).
