Friday, Sept. 12, 1856. OBITUARY DIED, in this District, on the 8th inst., after a short illness, MRS. MARGARET VAUGHN, wife of REV. C.C. VAUGHN, in the 31st year of her age, leaving her affectionate husband , children and other kindred and friends to mourn their sad bereavement. The deceased had been a consistent member of the Baptist Church for 10 years. Her prospects for Heaven only the brighter grew as she approached the Jordan of death and upon His banks, she no doubt could with the poet exclaim.. " On Jordan's stormy banks I stand and cast a wishful eye, To Canaan's fair and happy land Where my possessions lie"... ----------------- LOST Near the residence of MRS. A.B.
