"The Free Lance" Issue: October 7, 1904 A Coming Marriage Invitations have been issued to the marriage of Miss Lucile MONTGOMERY to Horace Leland BOMAR on Thursday evening, Oct. 20 at 8 o'clock at the First Baptist Church. The ceremony will be followed by a reception at the residence of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Victor M. MONTGOMERY, at 228 East Main street. FAIRMONT HAPPENINGS: --Nathan MOORE of Cowpens, is visiting his sisters, Mrs. E. A. VANDYKE and Miss M. J. MOORE. TWO PICK 902 POUNDS IN ONE DAY A record for cotton picking that has scarcely been equaled in this section is that made recently by two Negroes, Will BLACKSTOCK and Carri* SIMS, on the farm of Mrs. LAYTON near Cross Keys. It is reliably reported that in one day the combined weight of cotton picked by the Negroes was 902 pounds. The man's proportion was 477 pounds, the woman's 425. In four days the two picked 3 bales of cotton showing that the above average was about equal for a series of days. FAIR, the former depot agent, has moved to Campobello. --Miss Rosa TURPIN of Greenville is visiting her brother's family here. --John G. LANDRUM, who has been spending some time with his mother here, has returned to his work at Columbia. --Miss Fannie RANDOLPH has returned from a delightful visit to friends and relatives at Santuc and Spartanburg. --Mrs. Warren FULLER has moved into E. C. FAIN's residence on North Main street. --Joe TURPIN of Grambling and D. C. LEONARD of Columbia spent Sunday in town. --Mr. FINGER of North Carolina has recently moved here and will engage in the lumber business. --J. B. TURPIN is spending a few days at Grambling. --J. C. SHUMPERT, who has been visiting relatives here, returned to his home in Georgia today. --J. R. CLEMENT has returned to Asheville after a visit to his sister here. --Miss Rosa and Leila TURPIN have returned from a short stay at Grambling. --Mrs. WILKIE of Rutherfordton, N.C., is visiting Miss Sue HAMPTON. --Mrs. and Miss DARGAN, who have been spending some time here, have returned to Greenville. free post Lisa
