CRIMM will be at the Spartan Inn for a few days longer and can be consulted by those needing glasses. --Miss Florence FOSTER of Fair Forest has been summoned to Valdosta, Ga., on account of the illness of her sister, Mrs. M. L. SMITH. --Geo. W. TRAYLOR, a well known Spartanburg boy will be with the Harris Springs Hotel this season. --A warrant was issued today before Magistrate GARRIS for the arrest of John RICHARDS, colored, charged with violation of contract. --Henry W. THOMSON has accepted the agency for Jones & Laughlin, large steel manufacturers of Pittsburg, Pa. --Chas. B. YEAGER of Danville, Va., has been appointed an agent for the Virginia Life Insurance Company at Clifton. Frank C. POSEY has been added to the local force of the same company. --Ed TYLER, colored, who stabbed a white passenger on the Clifton car recently was given a hearing before Magistrate WALKER of Glendale today and bound over for court. HARRELSON NEWS: [April 27] --Misses Eddie and Eula WOFFORD of Rockford recently visited this section. --Master Lanham STRIPLING of Hebron, has been visiting his sister, Mrs. Reginald HARELSON. --Mr. WOFFORD and children spent Sunday at Enoree. --H. Fitzhugh HARRELSON and sister, Miss Nettie left last Thursday for a visit to Greenwood and other parts of the state before their return. --T.A. WEIR brought a graphophone through this section last week which amused many of his friends. --Horace HARRELSON spent Saturday and Sunday with relatives at Buffalo. --Mrs. R. M. STRIPLING of Hebron, spent Thursday with Mrs. R. P. HARRELSON. CRESCENT: [April 27] --Mrs. E. T. WESTMORELAND has returned home after spending a week with her uncle, J. D. DARBY of Jeb. The famous painting of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph IZARD of South Carolina executed by COPLEY in 1774, was sold at Charleston Tuesday to the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, by the late Gabriel MANIGAULT. It is understood that he picture brought $8,000. INMAN ITEMS: [April 30] --J.Z. MIMS a prominent young man of Sumter, and a possible candidate for matrimony, has been visiting here this week and some of our own young men are threatened with nervous prostration. BERRY BRIEFS: [April 18] --Last Sunday morning as Thomas GOWAN and Charlie EMORY were driving a young mule it became frightened and ran away throwing both out of the buggy and bruising them considerably. --J. C. WALL, who has been visiting relatives and friends in this community, returned home this week. --Miss Lula SEAY of Cherokee, who has been visiting the family of E.E. CHAPMAN, returned home today. --D. H. FOWLER of Lolo was in this section last week hunting cotton for Lolo Cotton Mill, but it seems to be scarce. --Misses Melissa BLACKWELL, Meda BISHOP and Clemmie CANTRELL were the guests of Miss Minnie BISHOP, as were J. V. WALL, W.B. CANTRELL and Robert McKELVY. --E.C. CANTRELL, who has been confined to his room with mumps was able to be out today. WOODRUFF NOTES: [April 27] --Miss Lela DARWIN is quite sick. --Miss Lora JONES is at home from Limestone College on account of illness. --Mrs. W. H.
