    1. [SCSPARTA] James P. Holtzclaw (was G H Holtzclaw and G P Holtzclaw)
    2. Suzanne Matson
    3. Jane, I found the following which may be the James in question-- James Pinckney Holtzclaw Private Co C 22nd SCVI captured 6 Apr 1865 Farmville VA, sent to City Point VA 14 Apr 1865, on to Newport News VA 15 June 1865, released on General Order #109, died Fairgrounds Hospital, Petersburg(?) 26 June 1865 of rem? fever (rheumatic fever maybe?). I am guessing Petersburg since the city is abbreviated as Pbg. I also checked the two books Broken Fortunes and Dark Hours compiled by Randolph W. Kirkland, Jr which gave the same information from the same sources.
