    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Barnett Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/EgB.2ACI/2671 Message Board Post: My father was from Cowpens, SC. His Father was Robert Talmadge Barnette who had family in and around Gaffney, SC. I know Robert Talmadge Barnette had 13 or more brothers and sisters, he could not tell me all their names, he died in 1984. I am looking for any list of ancestors someone might have. He is all I have information on, I do know the "e" on Barnette has been added and dropped by different ones.

    1. [SCSPARTA] Info from McDowell Bible in home of Jovan Barnett in 1906:
    2. David Middleton Edelen II
    3. Hello RBarnett, The Barnetts and my Whites, Fosters, and McDowells from the Spartanburg area of S.C. were related. While I don't have much info on the Barnetts' line, I do have some info that shows how they married into my White line, etc.. I also have some info on the Fosters and McDowells that was copied in 1906 in Pacolet, S.C. by my great grandfather Rev. Wm. Henry White and a McDowell cousin of his from their "grandmother McDowell's family Bible" which was at that time in the posession of a Jovan Barnett, a cousin of my great grandfather's. I have my White, Foster, and McDowell family lines from me back to when they came to America if you are interested. Perhaps in one of them is some info that might be of help or interest to you, expecially the Whites. Let me know if you are interested and I will send them to you. I also have the lines of my Barclay and Stenhouse lines who also settled in S.C.. Take care, David Middleton Edelen II ----- Original Message ----- From: <RBarnetteJr@hotmail.com> To: <SCSPARTA-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, June 29, 2003 1:01 PM Subject: [SCSPARTA] Barnett or Barnette in SC > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: Barnett > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/EgB.2ACI/2671 > > Message Board Post: > > My father was from Cowpens, SC. 3. I am not a McDowell, but my father, who was from Spartanburg SC, had cousins named McDowell; his aunt married a Perry McDowell around the turn of the century. I would be very interested in any family history about that line of McDowells if they relate to his kin.
