POLLARD went to Spartanburg Saturday on business. VICTOR NEWS: -The school at Rock Hill taught by W. A. COGGINS closed last Saturday. -Miss May DORMAN, who is teaching the Green Point school spent Sunday with her parents. -Dr. C. P. EVINS preached at his place last Sunday afternoon. -J. W. SMITH, a traveling salesman, is spending a few days with his family. -A. P. JONES has returned home after teaching in Cherokee County three months. HEARD AT HEBRON: -A narrow escape from being killed was had by John Wesley WOFFORD who recently was driving a mule to a buggy when it took a fright and ran away with him. The lines broke while he was trying to hold the mule. The thoughtful little boy jumped out and saved himself from being killed. The mule ran through a wood pile with the buggy and struck an elm tree. It then ran through the yard and struck the corner of the house. One wheel was bad damaged and the mule tore out of the harness and ran off a short distance. -There is an aged man in our section who says that fifty-five years ago the 15th of April it snowed all day and afterwards everything was killed. -Mr. and Mrs. Nesbitt VISE of Union visited relatives at this place recently. -Mr. and Mrs. Frank O'SHIELDS have visited relatives here recently. -Mrs. Elizabeth VISE is visiting relatives in the Walnut Grove section. -Alvin LANCASTER visited Mrs. Christine Summer Saturday. FLATWOODS FACTS: -A. J. WILLIAMS has accepted a position as a guard of Chaingang No. 1 under Mr. PHILLIPS. -Mrs. HARDIN and daughter, Miss Nellie, of Chester are visiting Mrs. Mary Turner. -Parker KIMBRELL was the guest of John WHITE Sunday. -Mrs. John PEARSON of Alabama, and two daughters are the guest of her brother, Bill SHIRLEY and daughter, Miss Inez PEARSON. -Mrs. D. A. EVANS of this place is visiting relatives near Whitney. -Rufus WHITE and Smiley WILLIAMS visited friends in Spartanburg Saturday night and Sunday. -Misses Leila TURNER, May WEST and Eva McMILLIAN of Cherokee are attending school at this place, also Frank WEAVER.
