MORRIS ,March 1. - BENJAMIN LEE COOPER, 21, and MISS MILDRED GOODE, 18, both of Springdale, N.C. were married March 14, by Judge Hicks. - COLUMBUS WINFIELD FULTON BROWN, 68 of Pacolet and MISS EMMA FULLER, 58, of Lyman were married at Sptbg., March 14, by Judge Hicks. - CARL LOWE, 20 and MISS MAGGIE McMICKEN, 19, both of Saxon were married at Sptbg., March 14 by Judge Hicks. - WILLIE BEATTY, 21 and MISS EFFIE HARVEY, 19, of Gastonia were married by Judge Hicks, March 14. - ANDY LAWTER, 20 and MISS BERTHA SPLAWN, 21, both of Landrum, were married at Landrum, March 14, Magistrate Cantrell performed the ceremony. ----- Deaths and Funerals Pacolet, Jan.13- A pall of profound sorrow came over Pacolet and community Sat. morning when report was received of the death of MRS. OLIVE WACHTER MILLER, widow of the late SAMUEL E. MILLER at the home of her daughter, MRS. CLIFTON JONES, in Columbia. Her death while a great shock to her friends was not expected. More than a year ago a serious malady developed which despite the best medical skill, could not be arrested. She was originally from near Baltimore. She was 68 years of age. After her marriage to Samuel Miller, also of Maryland, they with 3 small children, came South, making their home here until death of MR. MILLER 5 years ago , since which time she had been living with her daughter, MRS. JONES. Surviving her are 3 children, MRS. CLIFTON JONES, Columbia, MRS. MAX WOOD, Greenwood, and E. BURKE MILLER, Pacolet; also 2 brothers, WM. WACHTER, Md. and AUBREY WACHTER, Arizona.
