Area Obituaries Greer, July 21- Funeral services for L.A. [JACK] BAILEY, 77, who died will be held at Wood Mortuary. Grandsons will serve as active pallbearers. MR. BAILEY was a retired contractor. He was born and reared in Ga. and was the s/o the late JASON and LOUISE WINGO BAILEY. He had been a resident of Greer for about 52 years, member of the Memorial Methodist church and was a veteran of the Spanish American War. Surviving are ; his wife, MRS. MAE WEST BAILEY; 2 daughters, MRS. ELSIE PARKER, Greenville and MRS. ALFRED G. LEMIEUX, Holyoke, Mass.; one son, ANSEL L. BAILEY, Greenville; 3 step-daughters, MRS. W.C. TRAMMELL, Sptbg., MRS. W.W. FOSTER, Greenville and MRS. FRANK O. COVINGTON, Lynchburg, Va.; one step-son, W.W. SPLAWN, Greenville; one brother, W.L. BAILEY, Atlanta; 2 sisters, MRS. MATTIE WOOD, Atlanta, MRS. MARY LOWERY, Alabama; 17 grandchildren ----- Woodruff, July 9- MRS. FRANCES [FANNY] GRUBBS REEVES, 82, died at her home after an illness of 2 days. She was the wife of the late JOE REEVES and a daughter, of the late RICHARD and SALLIE GUINN REEVES. Surviving; 2 daughters, MRS. CAROL DAVIS, Woofruff and MRS. MAMIE SUE JULIAN, Pisgah Forest, N.C.; 2 sons, SAM, Jacksonville, Fla. and JULIAN REEVES, Greenville; two brothers, CALLIE GRUBBS, Greenville and BEN GRUBBS, Spartanburg; one sister, MRS. THELMA EZELL HUDGINS, 46, killed by lightning Tuesday at her home at Old Fort, N.C. were held at Old Fort at Arrowwood Baptist church near Chesnee. MRS. HUDGINS was a native of Arrowwood community and a sister of MRS. KATHRYN CLARK, of Spartanburg. She was the d/o G. FOSTER EZELL and the late MRS. EDNA WOOD WEST of Chesnee section.
