Brannon is: 1) Do not know what his middle initial "M" stands for. 2) He was born in Henderson County, NC 3) Died 7/4/1908 in Texas 4) Married Leora Tune - 4/10/1889 5) Had three children: Clint Brannon; Carl Brannon; Bunkley Brannon - last known living in Amarillo,TX (1939 listing in phone book). 6) Siblings listed were: Julilus Augusta Brannon; Nancy Alice Brannon; Emma Pauline Brannon; Rachael Brannon; John Landrum Brannon; Thomas Richard Brannon; Albert Lee Brannon; Virginia Elizabeth Brannon; and Sarah Euphenia Brannon. Father is Andrew Gramling Brannon: Born 1/15/1836 in Spartanburg County, NC; Died 7/1/1925 in Marlow, OK. Andrew G. Brannon married on 2/17/1859 to Rebecca P. Underwood who was born in Hendersonville, NC and died 5/5/1877 in Sulphur Roack, AR. Andrew G. Brannon married 12/29/1878 Kesiah Bulla Laswell who was born 6/16/1848 and died 1/19/1909 in Marlow, OK. Andrew Brannon was a veteran of the Civil War and served with the North Carolina cavalry. He was required to sign an oath of allegiance to the United States on 8/31/1865. His grandson Howard Cecil Brannon of Coolidge, AZ has this document. Another grandson, John Lester Brannon of Stephenville, TX has the muzzle loading gun that Andrew G. carried throughout the Civil War. A copy of his military record reveals he enlisted 7/15/1862 at Hendersonville, NC for three years in the 6th Regiment, North Carolina Cavalry (65 State Troops). He was captured at Jackson Mills near Kinston, NC on 6/21/1864. His name appears on the Roll of Prisoner of War Records at Point Lookout, MD (Register No. 1; Page 63) where he remained until an exchange was made on 2/18/1865. He moved west first to Sulphur Rock, AR living there several years and many of his children were born there. Rebecca P. Underwood Brannon died and was buried there. Second wife, Kisiah Bulla Laswell was a widow with two children. In 1887 Andrew G. Brannon with his family left Arkansas with started for Texas with other families (among them the John Browns). At Greenville, TX he left the wagon train and rented a farm from Lon Rutherford located 8 miles west of town (Rutherford, TX?). While there his son, Julius Augusta Brannon married Delia Brown - daughter of the mentioned John Brown. After two years he moved to a farm 2 miles west of Poolville, TX and lived there until 1901. While there his son, John Landrum Brannon met and married Otha Pearl Lytle (daughter of Texas Ranger J. J. Lytle and Cynthia Ann Roger - descendant of John Roger and Elizabeth Emory Rogers). Andrew G. Brannon drew for land in the Indian Territory and in 1901 moved on to the place located 9 miles west of Marlow, Ok where he lived until he died in 1925. Andrew G. Brannon's parents were: Patrick Brannon - born 2/25/1816 in Spartanburg County, ND and died February 1857 in Hendersonvill, NC. Patrick Brannon married Paulina Bennett (daughter of Mc Gager Bennett and Susie Hutchinson) and was granddaughter of Drewy Hutchinson and Amelia Southal. Hope this may help you a bit.....
