Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/EgB.2ACI/2582.1 Message Board Post: This woman, Mila aka Mrya Croker aka CROCKER was born in S. C. in 1848, according 1850 S. C SPARTANBURG county Census to a MINERVA CROKER aka CROCKER. She was most likly the granddaughter of a JAMES CROKER aka CROCKER who lived in a near-by household... We know from the 1850 & 1860 S. C. census that Mila/Myra was given the CROKER aka CROCKER surname.... She was not on the 1870 Spartanburg Co SC census with her mother so she had already gone to N. C. . check the N. C.Polk or Rutherford Co. census for her under the name of Myra Crocker or Croker.. Working as a Domestic Servant , she mostly likely didn't have a first husband or Zach could have been the father of her first 5 children then finally married her. That did happen back then...as well as today.... For more information concerning her being a "DOMESTIC SERVANT" go to <http://genforum.genealogy.com/mcentire/messages/237.html> .
