RE: "May 8, 1880 JONES BLAKE born in Virginia, August 29, 1805; moved to So. Carolina when young; married Elizabeth M. Allen in 1829; wife died in 1859; then married Mrs. Elizabeth L. Gulley; died April 8, 1880." Thanks for posting this death announcement. I didn't have the actual birth date of Jones Blake. I got information on him from "Goodspeed's History of Southern AR" Quachita Co., AR p 65 as he supposedly moved to Nevada Co., AR before his first wife died. His son moved to Quachita Co., AR. Jones is the son of Stephen Blake who was the son of another Jones Blake, the brother of my ancestor, Bethany Blake. Their parents lived in Isle of Wright Co. VA and then Orange Co., NC. One or more of these Blakes were in Spartanburg Co. SC at one time. I'm not certain which one.
