I saw on a tree that his father was Basil (Bazil)Smith. I have another source that suggests he was the son of Reuben Smith and brother to Gabriel Smith Sr. Reuben was the son of David Smith from Ireland. Gabriel Smith Jr. went to Dawson Co Ga , married a full Cherokee, Sabra Blue. They had 8 children: He was supposedly the first person to be buried at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Dawson Co, where John Smith is also buried. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
