    3. 1941 MRS. PEARSON, 91, Notes Birthday Woodruff, June 23- MRS. MARTHA PEARSON, widow of L. FRANK PEARSON, Confederate veteran, celebrated her 91st birthday anniversary Monday at the home of her daughter, MRS. W.L. BRYSON, of Woodruff. MRS. PEARSON received many gifts, letters and telegrams of congratulations on her birthday. She is one of the oldest residents of Woodruff. MRS. MATHILDA HANNA, who will be 98 in Nov. being the oldest. MRS. HANNA is the widow of JAMES HANNA. MRS. PEARSON is the only surviving charter member of the Woodruff Assoc. Reform Presbyterian church, having been one of the 3 sisters to organize the church in 1879. Her sisters were the late MRS. T.S. WRIGHT and MRS. C.M. WRIGHT. Being about 15 years old when the War Between the States closed, she has vivid recollections of the reconstruction days and the hardships suffered by people at that time. Since her husbands death several years ago, she has been living with her daughter, MRS. BRYSON on East Georgia Street, Woodruff. She has another daughter, MRS. J.S. SWITZER and a son, L.M. PEARSON of Spartanburg and a number of grandchildren.
