    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Bobo, Hobby, Dean, Roebuck, Bomar, Bush, McMillin, Cooley Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/EgB.2ACI/1364.1375.1 Message Board Post: You can add Alfred P. Bobo (b. 1814, SC) and Elizabeth M. (Hobby) Bobo (b. 1816, SC) to the list of Greene County, Arkansas, residents with ties to Spartanburg District, South Carolina. They settled in St. Francis Township, Greene County, about 1857. Alfred Bobo was the son of Elisha Bobo and Lucy (Dean) Bobo. Elizabeth M. (Hobby) Bobo was a daughter of Zachariah Hobby and Rhoda Elizabeth (Bobo) Hobby. Elisha Bobo (b. 1788, SC) and Rhoda Elizabeth (Bobo) Hobby (b. 1792, SC) were siblings; children of Burrell Bobo and Elizabeth (Roebuck) Bobo. If I have it correct, Alfred Bobo's wife Elizabeth M. Hobby was also his first cousin. Elizabeth's sister was Louisa A. (Hobby) Bomar, the wife of Booker Bomar. If I have my generations correct, Booker Bomar and my mother's great-great grandmother, Susan (Bomar) McMillin, were first cousins; their fathers -- Edward Bomar and Armistead Bomar respectively -- having been sons of John Bomar and Barbara (Bush) Bomar. As I mentioned in my previous posting, Susan (Bomar) McMillin's son and daughter-in-law, my mother's great grandparents William Pinkney McMillin and Adaline (Cooley) McMillin, moved from Spartanburg County, South Carolina, to Greene County, Arkansas, in 1853.
