David Crockett Field was married 4 times and we come from his first wife Jerrusha E. Patrick. They are found in the Hood Co. Census for 1870 in Texas and are listed as Emeline and Crockett. There are many mistakes on the names in this Census, but we finally found a Indian Wars Pension on D.C. Field in which he himself named Jerrusha as his first wife. According to a son of Thomas Greene Field he states in a poem that he wrote that DC was named after Davy Crockett who fought at the Alamo. The Crockett family lived in Erath Co and another Crockett married a Field later on so I have often wondered if there was more of a connection. Contact me if you would like more information.
