JONES of Charleston is spending the summer with her mother, MRS. W.L. LEDFORD. - A tent meeting will begin at Carlisle church on Wednesday. The pastor, Rev. M.T. HARTSOE will be assisted by Rev. B.L. PADGETT. - MISS ELLA BERRY and MR. JOE H. CANTRELL visited at ELI WILLIAMS the fourth. ----- Clinton News July 9.- Riverside Cottage , out on the banks of the Enoree, is being occupied this week by the first party from Thornwell Orphanage. This summer resort was built several years ago for the benefit of all those who have no homes to go to for the summer. A large crowd is now at the cottage and all are enjoying themselves. - MISSES FRONDE KENNEDY, ETTA LEE and MARTHA KELLAM, 3 of the teachers at the Orphange here, left for New York to take summer courses in Columbia University. - MRS. W.K. DOUGLAS lady principal of the Female College at Due West, is spending the week with MRS. J.R. HOOTEN. - MISS LOU ELLA McMILLAN and MESSRS. PARKS ADAIR and ALBERT GALLOWAY spent part of the week with Mr. and Mrs. W.P. HORTON. - MISS ANNIE BLAKELY of Pea Ridge is the guest of MISSES NEVILLE . - MR. BOYCE MaHAFFEY is acting as substitute clerk at Clinton hotel this week, due to the asbence of MR. E. SKALOWSKI. - The many friends of MISS MARY TOBIN will be glad to hear that she will arrive Tuesday to be the guest of her aunt, MRS. C.H. BARBER for several weeks. - MISS FLEMINGS PORCH PARTY One of the most delightful affairs which the younger set has enjoyed was the porch party with which MISS GLADYS FLEMING complimented MISS RACHAEL MacAULEY of Chester and her niece, MISS MABEL SIMPSON.
