    3. 1935 Sept. 14.- DOUG CANNON, 143 pound Spartan, shaded BUSTER PERRY, 147 pound of Gaffney, in the 6-round headliner last night on the Spartan Mills open air boxing card, the last of the season. Results of other bouts on the card follow; DUB O'SHIELDS scored a technical knockout over FRANKIE NEAL in the second when NEAL went down with an injured ankle; BOYCE 'LEFTY' WOOD, 122, and HORACE BEHELER, 121, battled to a draw; FOREST 'UG' ADAIR, 154 gained the nod over, 'ROUGHOUSE RALPH' LANDS, 149; LLOYD CROW, 125, defeated NEWT LEONARD, 130, and YOUNG KID CROSBY, 95 outpointed HANK CANNON, 93. ----- RITES for Woodruff Merchant Woodruff, Sept. 24.- THOMAS M. VISE, 81, retired merchant and former postmaster of Woodruff, died Sunday at his home here after a short illness. MR. VISE had been in declining health several months. Funeral services were to held at the First Baptist church, interment in Bethel cemetery. Surviving are his widow, who before marriage was MISS MALA WEST; one -half brother GEORGE H. TODD, Woodruff and several nieces and nephews. He had been a member of the Woodruff Bapt. church for 64 years. ----- Sept.24- L.L. LINDER, 73 died at his home in Cowpens after a lingering illness. MR. LINDER had made his home in Cowpens for the past 25 years. He was a member of the Baptist church. Surviving are the following children; MRS. F.M. MAYNOR, W.H., J.J., and A.J. LINDER, all of Cowpens; and MRS. J.L. WADDELL, Cowpens and a brother, JOHN LINDER ,Gaffney. 33 grandchildren and 22 g-grandchildren. Funeral services from the Cowpens Central Baptist church by Rev. PAUL DOBBINS and Rev. J.P. HUSKEY. Interment in the Cowpens cemetery. Grandsons pallbearers; CLARENCE MAYNOR, HORACE and LEE WADDELL, WEBB and FOREST LINDER and G. WHITE. Grandaughters flower bearers; LILLIE MAE LINDER, IRENE WADDELL, LOVIE and O.E. WHITE, ROXIE BIGGERSTAFF and GLADYS LINDER. Bobo Funeral home in charge. ----- MARRIAGES RECORED IN WEEK- Sept.29 WILLIS NELSON LAYTON, 28, Roebuck and MARTHA ELIZABETH SHANDS, 30, Pauline. - HORACE FRANKLIN WADDELL, 25, and ELNORA DORMAN, 20 both of Cowpens. - JAMES HALLEN STEPHENS, 44 , and CURRY BERRY, 38, both of Sptbg. - MARION ELMER CANNON, 21, Inman and BARBARA LENA BERRY, 18, Sptbg. - HAROLD HARLEY McABEE, 28 , and BESSIE OMERA CANNADY, 23, both of Woodruff. - JAMES DILL 23, and VIRGINIA JACKSON, 20, both of Landrum. ----- CHARGES LISTED BY MPOTORCYCLE OFFICERS HERE Sept. 15.- Two new motorcycle patrolmen added to the city police dept. went on duty yesterday and during the day entered eight charges on the jail book. The new patrolmen, LAMAR RIDDLE, and HOYT L.
