    3. December 17, 1929 RUTHERFORD FUNERAL IS DELAYED AS WOMAN'S BODY REPORTED LOST Rutherfordton, Dec. 16- The most unusual incident has occurred. The body of MRS. B.C. LIVINGSTON who died Saturday at St. Albans, Va., 12 miles from Charleston, Va. Saturday at 9 a.m. and drove through the country. They arrived here Sunday at 5 p.m. The body left home at 11:25 a.m. Sunday and was due in Asheville this morning but has been lost. Relatives are making every effort to locate it now. Funeral was announced for this afternoon but it is uncertain now. MRS. LIVINGSTON, 38, is the eldest daughter of O.T. WALDROP of this place. She was preparing some coloring to be mixed with wax on Nov. 25 when it exploded, burning her severely on the right leg and right hand. She leaves a husband, daughter, MISS ESTELLE MILLS LIVINGSTON, father, sister,MISS ANNIE BETH WALDROP, who has been living with her and brother, B.B. WALDROP of this place./ She was a member of the Presbyterian church and will be buried here when the body is located. --------------- FARMER IS SHOT WHILE HUNTING Laurens, Dec. 16 - MASON LANGSTON, farmer , was brought to the local hospital Saturday night suffering from a painful gun shot wound in the hip. The wounded man had been given first aid by a Gray Court physician and after he was brought to the hospital , the flesh wound was treated and the patient made comfortable. MR. LANGSTON is resting well today and it is expected that he will recover rapidly. MR. LANGSTON was shot accidentally while out hunting Saturday afternoon with a negro tenant, EUGENE SMITH, whose gun discharged when he jumped over a branch or ditch. MR. LANGSTON was walking ahead a few paces and caught the full charge of birdshot in the fleshy part of his hip. He sent SMITH to secure help, but Smith was so excited and confused over the incident he got lost in the woods and was delayed in getting a distance for more than an hour. MR. LANGSTON stated to his family and later to friends that the incident was accidental. ---------------- Tuesday, Dec. 17 LANDRUM SOCIAL ITEMS OF WEEK Landrum, Dec. 16 -FRANK BROWN has returned from Versailles, Ky., where he attended the funeral Friday of his mother. - MRS. G.E. GREENWOOD was called to Lenoir, N.C., Saturday on account of the sudden death of her uncle there. - JAMES ALTON DUCKETT of Asheville and CLARA LEE WILSON of Montreat, N.C., were married Wednesday night at the Methodist parsonage, the REV. W.P. MEADORS performing the ceremony. - An old time corn shucking was held Tuesday night at the home of B.H. HUTCHERSON.
