I had been searching for that information for some time. Do you happen to know where we might get a map that would show that. Also, is there any other information or places to go on the web that would show the early information or that would show other places to go that might show early data on the area of Va., N. and S. C. Have just recently became tied close to home plate. I feel a little like one of Winnie the Pooh's playmates at the moment. Does anyone know where the old Templeman Cemetery is located? I think it is supposed to be a couple of miles north of Cannon's Campground. I'm related to Aaron and Mary Templeman who may buried here in unmarked graves.

I think you and I corresponded a couple of years back. Do you have a digital scan of James W. Quinn's Obit? I would love to have a copy. Which James Quinn is this? Jr. or Sr? I am related to Mary Jane "Mollie" Quinn Linder, daughter of James W. Quinn Sr. and Agness Willis Quinn. I have a few pages from the minutes of Zion Hill Baptist Church in Spartanburg showing the Quinns on their membership rolls. Also a few entries in their minutes where James W. Quinn seems to be getting in trouble for non-attendance. So if anyone was a preacher in the family, it was probably his son James Jr. TL Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. It's located downtown and has a great little library. They have books that list every Confederate soldier and also books to tell you the history of every single unit. We found information about my husband's gg-grandfather and from here was able to locate very specific records by researching the files on micro-film at the Greenville Library. We were able to find a lot of "missing links" and they have a lot of knowledge. If you don't live in the area, let me know - and as time allows - I can try to go look up the names for you. It's a great place to start and the volunteers there are just wonderful. Hope this helps. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. We found some really good information at the Confederate museum in Greenville. His gg-grandfather James W. Quinn was in the Palmetto Sharpshooters and lived in the Cherokee Springs area. Which brings me to a question. We have been looking for a Davis Chapel for several years and NOONE has been able to tell us anything about this church - where it was located or if it even exists. In his ggrandfathers obit, it stated that he had been a preacher at the Davis Chapel. Any information you could share about that chapel would be just WONDERFUL! We concentrated on Spartanburg County - never the Cowpens area. His g-granfather and g-grandmother are also buried at Cannon's Campground.
