"MRS. KATE WILKIE, 68" was 86 when she died. Catherine Jane Huntley was the d/o Joseph B. Huntley & Mary Elvira. Joseph was the s/o David Huntley, Sr. & Tency Wilkie. Tency was d/o Rev. William Aaron Wilkie Jr. & Sarah Hunt. Catherine Jane Huntley married George Pinkney Wilkie, Sr. George was s/o Rev. Joab Wilkie & Sarah N. Jay. Joab was Tency's brother. Their father, Rev. She was preceded to the grave by her husband, who died 44 years ago and two of her children, GEORGE P. WILKIE,JR., who passed at the age of 4 and CYRUS ADREAN WILKIE, who died a few years ago. She is survived by the following children: MRS. LILLIAN W. STELLER, of N.Y., MRS.J.B. MEARS, Forest City, MRS. C.D. KIRBY, Gaffney, J.A. WILKIE, Forest City, who for some time made his home in Charlotte and WM. H. WILKIE, Forest City. She is also survived by one brother, GEORGE M. HUNTLEY of Forest City and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren. My grandmother was a Waters before she married an Alewine. Her parents are buried in the SharonUnited Methodist Church Cemetery off Hwy 101 in Greer. My great uncle her brother, the only one left in the family, told me that there was an abandon cemetery some where near Sharon Church where is grandparents are buried. Their names were Jeff and Mary Bagwell Waters. My grandmothers parents were named William D. and Edna Christopher Waters. There is another Waters buried at Sharon Church but most of the Christophers are buried at Sharon Church. Any more information you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Are they the same? Does anyone know where these churches are in Spartanburg Co., SC. I don't think that Tyger Baptist refers to the old Tyger Baptist in Taylors, SC.
