Last Oct I visited Woodruff and I THINK I wnt to John Dodd Road. There was and OLD Bethel Cemetary right across the street from a Bethel Church. Some one years ago told me that there was a Bethel Cememtary by some railroad tracks and a gas station. I saw both. Evidently there was a black side and a white side of the same cememtary. My ancestor is buried in the black side and his tombstone stands about dead center in that cemetary. His half brother, Niles Nesbitt and I think Langdon Nesbitt are buried in the white side on the other side of the tracks Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. John Butler Morris moved to Spartanburg County, SC before the (June) 1900 census. He died in Spartanburg County, SC in 1927 and is buried at Walnut Hill Baptist Church cemetery. John Butler Morris may be the brother of William E. Morris who married Rhoda Turner and moved to TX after 1910. John Butler Morris' death certificate lists "Martin Lawter" as his father's name, and family information says his mother was Lizzie. Any leads or information would be so very much appreciated! Susan, I don't have the parents for Robert Vaughn(an). One person suggested to me that Robert was a brother of Rev. Ludwell Bacon Vaughan-but didn't offer any sources. Perhaps looking at the early Vaughn(an) deeds, wills, probate, etc might provide some answers. I don't have a birth date for Henry but he was probably born in Spartanburg Co SC and died probably sometime 1863-1864. He was married to Mary M. Townsend 15 Aug 1860 in Phillips Co AR according to Arkansas Marriage Record Index. Elijah Holtzclaw married as his second wife the widow of his brother Mary M. Townsend Holtzclaw 9 Jan 1873 in Phillips Co AR according to Arkansas Marriage Record Index. The thing that puzzles me is that there seem to be two daughters named Jane according to census records and/or probate records. I don't know what happened to the first Jane. The 1840 census plus later records would indicate 11 children at least-although I don't have 11 names.
