He was on 2 pay lists for a Tory unit called the 96 Brigade. I'd like to know more about this unit, and other units from the area which fought for the British. Also, I haven't found out what happened to Richard after the war. Was he killed? Did he have to leave the state? I know that many Loyalists were stripped of their citizenship and had their lands confiscated after the war. Was Richard one of these? Jane and her 5 daughters, including my Elizabeth, were still there in 1785 when Jane was granted land in her own name in the same area (near Woodruff) where Richard got land in 1773. Moore. He was born in South Carolina in about 1824, most likely in Spartanburg County. He was married to Ellender Nellie Floyd who was born in the Spartanburg area in 1836. They both wound up in Plainville Georgia. There is a likely tie to Captain Theophilus Moore (1830 Spartanburg Census). I found that Theophilus Moore relocated to Spring Town, Gordon County, Georgia, from South Carolina just as my Great, Great Grandfather, Thomas J. Moore did (1860 US Census). The age is right for Theophilus to be Thomas's father, but I couldn't find any other confirming facts. I also found records for David Floyd, father of Ellender Nellie Floyd, my Great, Great Grandmother, in the 1830 Spartanburg Census, as well as his grandfather Enoch Floyd. So I definitely do have a Spartanburg family connection. Randy Moore Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Hi Judy- Yes- I think that is how you should read it with one small correction. I think 1845 is the date the probate was filed and therefore most likely the year of Mr. Walden's death.

Following that, shall I assume that Wm N FOSTER m. ________ Walden and that the probate file for Mr. Walden did not refer by name to his dau, but only named her husband. _____ Walden - William N. Does anyone have information on the George M. Henderson family. He married Nancy Emlie Taylor about 1857. They had the following children, who was most likely born in Rutherford County: 1. John Thomas Henderson who married Sarah Ann McKinney (this is my line). 2. Sarah Ann (Sally) Henderson, (don't think that she was married.) 3. James (Jim) Henderson, (may have married a Mary). 4. Levinah E. Henderson 5. Peter Amaziah Henderson married a Mary E. 6. George Bunyon Henderson who married Effie Susanna McBrayer. He is buried at Holly Springs Church Cemetery. 7. Isaac N. (Newton) Henderson 8. William J. (Joe) Henderson Thank you. Any information on this family would be great. Judy Henderson Carver

He is over the age of 45 with several children. I believe that this is the same John Colbert who later (1850) shows up in Rutherford County. Actually there are two of them, one elder, one younger...and a William living next to the elder John...probably his brother. My husband's g,g grandfather was Alexander Colbert and he moved to Lumpkin County, GA in prior to 1940 after marrying Mary Sutton in Rutherford (a John Colbert was the bond person). Alexander was supposed to have been born in SC. I believe one John is Alexander's father and the other is his brother. Any info on Colberts in Spartenburg would be helpful. We believe they were married in Spartanburg abt 1777 but have yet to find any records. Additionally, if anyone has anything solid about Scarberry's heritage that would be great!
