My 10 and 11 year old grandchildren gripe about having to clean their rooms! I cannot imagine children that age working in a mill every day. It breaks my heart. I wish I could give them retroactive Christmas gifts! Merry Christmas to all of you. Hi Joan: The Santa letters are posted by the wonderful Nancie O'Sullivan who uses her time and talents transcribing these wonderful old newspapers and letters to share with us. Nancie is a blessing always throughout the year and her efforts are hugely appreciated by all of us. I am especially touched by the children's letters that ask for Santa to bring gifts to their younger brothers and sisters or other family members. A child's faith in Santa is so enormous... I was just reading one where the child asked for a piano...hmmm...Santa must have a magic piano shrinking ring or something if he is going to pull that down the chimney! Ho, Ho, Ho!
