I had to let you all know especially since you have been working so hard to help me. I just talked to a grand daughter of Gus and Emma Lee and she has an old invitation to a Vandy and Elmina Lee family reunion that was sent to Genie Lee (daughter of Gus and Emma) in 1990 by Meldora Lee Harmon. She says that Gus's father was Jimerson. She gave me these names: Mary Jane Lee Gross Tabitha Lee Fleming Richard Dickson Lee Harmony Lee Austin Lee Joshua Lee John Calvin Lee Margaret Lee Martha Lee Fleming Jimerson Lee Eliphus Lee Benjamin Lee She has more and we will be swapping information. Anything that I get I will let you know. Once again, Thank you all, Denise

Judy, I have a good bit on the Gardner's. Edgar's father, Thomas Gardner, was my great uncle. I don't much on Pearlie's family (just her parents and some siblings), but I do on the Gardners. Do you have any information on Calvin Bright and Elizabeth Cobb Bright? Elizabeth was born about 1863 in Cherokee County, S. C. I was told that Calvin was the son of Chesterfield and Louisa Bright. I am also looking for information on Theodore Bright and Mary Bridges Bright. Mary was born about 1865 in Cherokee County, S.C. and Theodore was born in Spartanburg County, S. C. Theodore's parents may have been William "Bill " Bright and Martha J. Phillips. ----- Original Message ----- From: <sshiel6259@aol.com> To: <SCSPARTA-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, February 07, 2003 7:55 PM Subject: [SCSPARTA] Re: Tobias Bright/Rachel McElrath > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/EgB.2ACI/463.868.1 > > Message Board Post: > > Joye, > I am researching the family of Chesterfield Bright, have you heard of this family? they live in Limestone Springs, Cherokee County, SC.,members of this family lived in Gaffney-Pacolet Mills & Spartanburg. > Thanks, > Sadie > > ______________________________

Maybe soon I can purchase you're book. I'm not sure If my Jackson's were in SC. Mattie Beach Jackson's nephew Joe Barnette married Bertha Mae Jackson. I believe her family mostly lived around Hendersonville and Polk Co. But could have been in SC also. Bertha and Joe Barnette were my grandparents. Her parents were Thomas Sheridan Jackson and Mary Ella Case. Thomas's parents were Alfred Webb Jackson and Harriet Blackwell.I have about 60 family sheets on this Jackson family.Think I may have found a bible birth record on Fanny Green's family in Nc. But can 't seem to get anywhere with my Barnette"s.Was nice hearing from you. Looks like you have written a lot of books that would be very interesting.

I wrote a book JACKSON OF NORTH PACOLET which is still available. See my webpage: www.scmar.com. William Alonzo Jackson married Mattie Beach, and they are buried there also. My great-grandfathers sister married Dock Green, probably of the same Green family. Are you in touch with Mrs. Millie Woodward? She is working on this Green family in Polk County, NC.
Hello, Does anyone have any information about a James Robert Reynolds, who would have been born between 1818-1822? His father was probably born in England, and may also have been named James. Sometime between 1825-1830, this family left South Carolina. My g-g-grandfather, James Robert Reynolds, is found in the 1840 census, living in Indiana. I am seeking some sort of verification or new information that would link my Reynolds family to the Reynolds in Spartanburg. Thank you, Nicky
Helen; As I told you on the genealogy .com broad reply, Minerva is not in Solomon or his son, John Crocker's line for that time period. If she had children in the 1850 census , then she could not be the "Minnie" which is the "pet" name for the given name "Minerva" in my Henry C. and Anna Lee Crocker family. Henry C. bn. (30/01/1846) was the son of John Crocker ,(bn. 1803) Solomon's son... Now, there is an elusive brother of Solomon Crocker named JOHN (C?)CROCKER who was married to a NANCY (some think was a Wofford) her "pet" name was Nicey. These are mentioned in " SPARTANBURG COUNTY / DISTRICT SOUTH CAROLINA, Deed Abstracts Books A-T 1785 -1827 # 672. I have not followed up on this brother of Solomon any further. They just seemed to disappeared, since he was not mentioned in his father, Arthur, or mother, Maryan Crocker's Wills I assumed they had died. But, now, with this enlightenment from you, they may have had a falling out with his family and went to N. C.... There are Two people looking for a John Crocker , one born about 1810 in N. C.(Shelby Crocker Smith). Another born abt 1820-1830- around Spartanburg County S. C. (Mike Crocker) Again, I suggest you go to the Crocker Cousins site and look in their mailing list archives , your Minerva may be listed. Also, I suggest that even though you found her as "Minvera" on the census , you might find her as a "MINNIE, which is a "pet " for Minerva. If you do find her please, report it to me as to which Crocker she does belong.
