According to Reville's Edgefield County SC Records: 1786: Jones Rivers on Edgefield Co Jury list. 1788: John Rivers on Edgefield Co Jury list. April 1790: Jones and Mary Rivers executors of Robert Garrett, deceased. July 1790: John Rivers Will was proven. It was written in 1779 and said wife might be pregnant. So quite possibly they had other children i n the eleven years which elapsed before his death. I suppose because Jones Rivers is an heir, recording was necessary in Edgefield. March 1795: Inventory of Jones Rivers estate returned in court minutes. Nov 1802: Mary Rivers wrote Will. 1802: Estate sale. Nov 1811: administration granted to William Garrett. > According to a different source, Mary's second husband was Jones RIVERS. This > source lists the GARRETT men above as her sons in the abstract, which seems > to differ from what the LWT above reads. > By the above paragraph do you mean...you aren't certain the others named in Mary's Will are her children? I don't think it specifically says so but it appears that they are. By the way, Charles Hammond's wife was named Mary (Polly).
