Sarah Ann Thornton is my gg....gm from her marriage to John Menton Brown. Previously she had been married to Richard Garrett. These Thorntons, Garretts, and Browns had some connection to either old Edgefield and/or Abbeville County prior to their move to Wilkes County GA. Rumors suggest they moved freely back and forth across the Savannah River. And perhaps they had some interest in gold mining.
