Line 20; Page 225 1830 Edgefield Richard GARRETT Males under 5: 1 Males 30-40: 1 Females under 5: 1 Females 20-30: 1 >>>>>> In looking at what I wrote down for the 1840 Edgefield census, I see no Richard (unless Robert is a mistake by the census taker or the neighbor who might have givven the data) Garrett, but I see a possibility for Sarah Garrett. It does not make sense with her age that she would be called the Head of Household, but if she was Richard's widow by then, that might make sense. I guess stranger things have happened. (I have not completed my search of 1860 Edgefield to be able to trace her; she would have married her 2nd husband by then anyway.) I want to explain how I arrived at the page numbers: for example 90/39 -- with 90 being the number stamped on the page and 39 being the one written it; it would have been the 39th page for Edgefield District, as the same book had another county recoded ahead of it.
