His father may have been from Germany and his mother may have been from England. Jacob was 10th on this list. During 1840's Jacob is mentioned in court records 6 February 1843 when he and Sally take two Negroes of the property left to Sally's mother and divide with Sally's three sisters and their husbands. In 1848 James David petitions in the Equity Court for a division of the estate of Jacob. The two older daughters (Catharin and Lucinda) were shown to have been married by this time.
